Abstract - Currently, there are many peer-to-peer (P2P) application layer multicast (ALM) solutions which offer a serious alternative to IP multicast and content delivery networks live video streaming applications. Nonetheless these P2P infrastructures suffer from Quality of Service (QoS) problems due to several causes: dynamics of users’ presence, selfish behavior, latency, bandwidth and geographic distance. Several research works address these problems individually, but none of them provides a global solution. In this paper, we show how a solution based on a multi-agent system can solve this problem and the challenges it has to face. |

Abstract - Peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) is a major drawback for multicarrier system such as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). Due to increase in PAPR of OFDM signal the power amplifier causes non-linear distortion. In this paper we have proposed a PAPR reduction scheme for OFDM system by modification in conventional selective mapping (SLM) technique with Hadamard transform (HT). Furthermore, the Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function (CCDF) of the PAPR for both the conventional and the Modified SLM are measured and compared. |

Abstract - The recent and rapid evolution of wireless technologies has led to a high demand in terms of resources. To solve this prob-lem the idea of cognitive radio has been introduced to facilitate a good spectrum management and efficient use of the spectrum. In this article, a method for the detection of the spectrum with the purpose of detecting the presence of bands of unoccupied frequencies is proposed. The method used is the matched filter. The performance was assessed by using the MATLAB based on the AWGN channel. |

Abstract - Wireless mesh network (WMN) has become widely accepted technology in recent decade. Low cost, simplicity and availability of the Internet without actually getting directly connected to the broadband services, are few of the advantages that can be counted on for popularity of WMN. Mesh nodes get access to the Internet through a special device called Gateway. Even one gateway may be sufficient to provide broadband facility to a number of nodes in its range. With addition of more gateways, the range of covering more nodes is increased. This scenario of multiple gateways leads to improvement in throughput of overall network. But some criteria is required based on which the nodes are to be associated to a gateway. Associating to the nearest gateway may not be always the best choice. We present here an algorithm for associating a node to one of several available gateways. Throughput is one of the key performance metrics for many applications. In this paper we have analyzed the network on this performance metric for nearest gateway scheme and for proposed scheme. The proposed scheme has shown better performance especially for densely populated mesh nodes near gateway. |
